RAY OF HOPE CLINIC & COMMUNITY CENTRE - JUNE REPORT WEEK 4



THE CLINIC


The week went on smoothly with no major incidences.  The number of patients increased to 32 compared to 23 of last week.  Maternity also did well we had 13 mothers that delivered during the week.
June is a chilly month and sometimes accompanied by rain, will spread through July.  During this time many children are attacked with Pneumonia and sore throats.

KOP

There is a container from the US, which has already arrived in Nairobi.  Among the items in the contain are some meant for ROH Kawangware and we shall pick them next Tuesday from Sharon KOP Rep. All these arrangements was done by the courtesy of Monique.

We shall be able to communicate the contents of the items ones we receive.

LEARNING CENTRE

Barasa came to the centre last Friday and spent most of the time at the Learning Centre.

 The children are doing fine.


COMMUNITY OUTREACH

They met as usual.  Officials of Equity Bank came again for the second time.  They gave a lecture on banking and how the support group could benefit.

THE CLINIC


All went well at the clinic though the number of patients was slower than last week as only 23 outpatients were received compared to 40 of last week and 12 maternity cases.
The rising cost of living is still biting and commodities especially food stuffs rising day by day.

INTERNS

Miscellaneous was high due to buying food for bed-ridden clients


LEARNING CENTRE

Teacher Evelyn received USD 70 towards Odinga’s lunch for a period of 3 months.  This is a donation from Ramona who happens to be Odinga’s guardian.

 

 

COMMUNITY OUTREACH


During their Thursday’s meetings they were visited by the following

-         Officials from Equity Bank who wanted to meet the support group and encourage them to do banking and take loans.  They will be coming from time to time and follow-up their progress.
-         Domestic Workers Organization came to report that they will be reviewing their earlier lectures on training domestic workers which could benefit the clients children and themselves.  This had been suspended for a while but has now resumed.

-         Nairobi University Interns were in attendance
